Program Profile
The undergraduate program in Mathematical Engineering at ITU aims to equip students with a strong mathematical foundation and analytical thinking skills. The program offers a comprehensive education that integrates theoretical mathematics with engineering applications. Students gain the ability to formulate complex systems using mathematical analysis, modeling, and computational methods; to evaluate quantitative data; and to solve multidisciplinary problems through a mathematical approach. In this way, graduates not only acquire a solid theoretical background in mathematics but also develop the qualifications needed to take on critical roles in various sectors such as artificial intelligence, data science, finance and banking, defense industry, and biomedical fields.

Classrooms, laboratories, projects, and undergraduate thesis work create learning environments designed to equip students with both theoretical and applied knowledge. In addition, students gain professional experience by participating in research activities and completing internships.

Program Employment Opportunities
Mathematics maintains a broad application spectrum owing to its close relationship with computer science, physics, biology, social sciences, and economics. As a result, well-trained mathematical engineers are always needed by interdisciplinary research projects and in a wide variety of job sectors.
Our graduates, with their “Mathematical Engineer” degrees, enjoy successful careers in information technology (IT), data mining, banking, insurance and various other sectors.
Graduates are able to work in IT departments as system analysts, web designers, and computer programmers. They also find employment directly in the software development sector.
Along with the above, they may enter the field of education, that of statistics, or find work in financial institutions. Notably, mathematical engineers, with their background in statistics and database, are also able to find work in the increasingly popular field of data mining.
Students desiring to pursue an academic career in the field of mathematics, upon meeting certain requirements, may seek to be promoted as research assistants and continue their research.
